Every day, people walk through the doors of The Marie Equi Center looking for something that so many of us already have access to: a place where they can simply exist as themselves.
Some come for a hot cup of coffee or a nourishing meal. Others need a private, affirming shower, clean laundry, help navigating housing or healthcare, or simply a place to rest without having to explain who they are.
What they find is more than services. They find community.
At The Marie Equi Center, we believe belonging is a health intervention. When people know they are welcome, respected, and connected, they are better able to care and advocate for themselves, build relationships, and move toward the futures they deserve.
That's why we created the Circle of Care.
Equi's Circle of Care is a community of people who believe belonging is something we all help create.
Some members volunteer.
Some advocate for policies that make our communities healthier.
Some share their skills, lived experience, or time.
Others choose to participate by making a monthly financial commitment.
All of these radical acts of care strengthen our community.
Monthly gifts contribute to sustaining the everyday life of the Center. Together, Circle of Care helps keep coffee brewing, meals shared, showers available, laundry running, peer support accessible, advocacy moving forward, and our doors open to anyone seeking belonging.
No single person creates this community. We create this community and care together.
